Breaks
Total break times for each person must not exceed 15 minutes for each four hours of continuous work.
Breaks may not be taken at the start or end of each shift.
If you smoke, you may smoke only in the designated areas during your break time.
Do not leave the labs unattended at any time.
Time off
If you need a day off, fill out a “Time Off Request Form” as soon as possible and notify your supervisor.
It is your responsibility to find a replacement for your shifts that have been approved by your supervisor.
Time Sheets
Time sheets must show all hours worked.
If you have worked for another lab aide, indicate that by writing their name on your time sheet in front of the time worked.
If you worked six or more hours and did not take a half hour lunch break, indicate this by writing N/L next to the time worked. If this is not done, then a half hour will be automatically removed from your time sheet.
All hours for each week must be signed, dated and dropped into the box marked “TIME SHEETS” in the lab supervisor’s office every other Friday. During summer quarter they are due every other Thursday. Late time sheets will not be processed until the next pay period.
New lab aides will receive their first paycheck on the third or fourth week of their employment depending on the payroll cycle and date of employment.
