  3. When a Print Card is first purchased for $1, it has zero units charged on it.

Print Card – Extra Card

  1. Sometimes a patron will be trying to add units to their print card and they will insert the money before inserting their print card. This will result in them having an unnecessary extra card.
  2. Lab aides can convert the value of the unnecessary blank card to units for the existing card using the Mini-til machine.
  3. Extra cards will be stored in a small pile next to the Mini-til machine
  4. Remember to record any transactions involving Mini-til on its log sheet.

Print Card – Error Printing

  1. There are a few circumstances where credit can be added to somebody’s Print Card to compensate for the expense of a printer error.
  2. If the job is sent to the printer and is somehow deleted from the queue due to a Printer error, then the pages will not print and units may be added back to the user’s card.
  3. If the ink is too light or leaves stripes and other ink-related artifacts units may be added to the user’s card.
  4. Units will NOT be added to a Print Card if the error is the user’s fault (ie. Blank pages in the document).

Unable to insert print card

1.      When the print station has its screen saver on, the computer will most likely reject the print card. To solve the problem, make sure you return the print station to its original screen by moving the mouse or pressing any button on the keyboard.

2.      If the computer still rejects the print card, try inserting it a couple of times more making sure that the side with the arrows is inserted first.
