Using a scanner

  1. Login to the Computer next to the Scanner (Workstation E20).
  2. Lift the lid on the scanner and put the original face down on the scanner glass. Make sure the original touches the right corner and aligns itself towards the right margin
  3. Slowly lower lid back down.
  4. To scan a document:

a.       Push the Scan button on the scanner.

a. HP PrecisionScan Pro opens if it is set to be launched by the Scan button.

a. The scanner performs a preview scan.

a. The preview image appears in the scanning software window.

b.      If the scanning software window is not open, click on the scanner icon on the desktop. Then, click Scan in the toolbar and select Preview from the Scan menu, or press Ctrl+R.

  1. Create a selection area by clicking on the area of the image you want to work with. A rectangular border may automatically surround the area you selected. If not, click on one corner of the area you want to work with, then drag diagonally to create the border.
  2. Choose an output type from the Output Type menu.
  3. Set output dimensions if you need to resize the original.
  4. At this point you may save, print, copy, place, or drag the selection to an open document or to the Desktop or scan the selection to a destination.
  5. A final scan is performed and the image in the selection area is saved, printed, copied, or placed or dropped into the open document.
